Hi THBE, [br]

not sure where the magnet on the smart cover sits. You might want to check the position of the magnet (paper clip?) and then look for any sort of sensor in the phone at the respective position. [br]

I can imagine that maybenot sure where the small extension ofmagnet on the loudspeaker unit (bottom left nextsmart cover sits. You might want to check the USB charging board) that extends toposition of the side might carry an extra sensormagnet (using a paper clip maybe) and then look for any sort of sensor in the phone at the respective position. There
I can imagine that maybe the small extension of the loudspeaker unit ([https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Huawei+Mate+8+Charging+Board+Replacement/103609?permalink=1#s193852|bottom left next to the USB charging board]) that extends to the side might carry an extra sensor. [br]

There
are also two magnets on the left rear edge of the phone assembly when opened (right edge when looking at it from the backback with the back cover off), but that would be inverse to how a smart cover usually works.
