The Chestnut IC (U1501) supplies voltages to both the Touch circuit and the LCD driver circuit. It is directly below the upper heat shield (the one covering the CPU) and right near the edge. For now, I would remove the shield if you can do that safely (disconnect the battery and don't force anything). Then test the device again to see if it still happens. The circuit may have been damaged but I'm a bit concerned about the randomness of the glitches, as opposed to "all on/all off" type of glitch. This could be caused by bad data going back and forth from the CPU to the screen. At any rate, start with the shield :>).
