Press and hold home button + power button for AT LEAST 12 seconds, sometimes more, until you see that Apple.

If your home button is not install, either short the 2 pins together OR the left pin to the frame using any metal tool. Your power button should be functional though.

If your home button is not install, either short the 2 home button pins together OR the left pin to the frame using any metal tool. Don't break them off, you just need to touch them. Your power button should be functional though.
Otherwise you can try to unscrew all the logic board screws, and slip a playing card or old credit card between the board and the bottom frame (battery side) to lift the board slightly (don't bend or break it) and make it's contact prongs loose continuity from the battery's prongs.
