You're not thick. The plan is to have a wiki repair manual for every device that gets better over time. For this iMac, we have [http://www.ifixit.com/Mac-Parts/iMac-Intel-24%22|parts], [http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/Device/iMac+Intel+24%22+EMC+2134+and+2211|questions / answers], a [http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Device/iMac_Intel_24%22_EMC_2134_and_2211|description page] about the device, but no step-by-step guides yet. We haven't yet made it so people can contribute their own repair guides (because the software isn't quite ready), so the display is a little confusing right now. We'll make this more clear with a release in the next few weeks.

It will always be the case that we have a varying amount of information depending on the device. We're trying to make clear exactly what we have (and what we still need!) with the sidebar beneath the photo of the device. Suggestions are [http://ifixit.uservoice.com/pages/32778-beta?lang=en&utm_campaign=Widgets&utm_content=tab-widget&utm_medium=widget&utm_source=ifixit.uservoice.com|always welcome] on communicating this better.

If anyone is interested in alpha-testing our software by writing step-by-step guides for repairing the 24" iMac, please contact me.go right ahead!
