iPhone X: No wifi, Bluetooth, or gps after back glass replacement

My iPhone X had a cracked back glass so my buddy offered to fix it for me. I let him and it all looked good at first, but now I have low WiFi signal everywhere I go, no Bluetooth, and my gps is not working.

Any idea on what could’ve happened?

Could it be the new glass blocking the signal?

I have an iPhone X I just purchased on ebay, took a gamble with one that the guy replaced a screen on, the new screen works after a hard reboot, but when I press the sleep button and turn the screen off, pressing it again makes the screen stay off, I can tell because the screen backlight turns on (the replacement panel was an lcd) but no content is on the screen, and the vibration motor works. I tried reinstalling the original screen with I think the same error, but the original screen is broken so I'm not sure if it was doing the same or not.

If I wait a short time before pressing the sleep button to turn on the display though it does turn on properly, idk why

iPhone X: How to center middle and upper layer when reballing?

I bought iPhone X middle layer reballing stencil, but I can't find a way to center the boards when I'm putting them back together, if I heat the lower area of upper board and it sticks in place then the upper area lifts up, I think that the upper board has been a bit deformed due to the heat of a heat gun, can I use my flat heating platform to do that kind of job, it's capable of heating up to 300°C

iPhone X: NTC error after FaceID Repair

Hello,

I had Face ID failure on my IPhone X phone. So I decided to fix it. I did all the steps in full and pass the module to a new flex. When doing the test with my I2C tester it passes all the tests (leds turn on...) but the NTC fails. I don't know if it's the fault of the new flex I bought or what. Attached photo of the tester and the module.

Thank you very much.

iPhone X: No WiFi, Bluetooth or GPS After Shell Replacement

I replaced the shell and screen on this iPhone X, as the whole phone was just cracked glass everywhere. In the past, when I just replaced the screen, everything worked as it should. The moment I replaced the shell, the phone has weak signals. The GPS gives a location around a mile radius, then freezes, bluetooth connects when very close to the device then disconnects randomly, WiFi connects when very close to the router, then disconnects, and the LTE stays connected but has very low signal and occasionally disconnects. I got the shell off of FixEZ, and it was one with the little parts already installed. I do know, during the process of fixing it, I did lose a little piece of metal shaped like a ring with a little line coming out. It was like a washer and it was in the top left corner if I remember correctly. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but it's a guess. Also I tried to check the bluetooth antenna that is near the taptic engine and it did look like it could get loose easily as well as I might've put the wrong screws to hold the plates that go on top of it. Not sure what it is so any help would be amazing! Thanks!

I didn’t use the phone for a few days and let it run flat. When I used the phone again it had really severe screen burn. I can ready the labels of the ghosted home screen apps.

How could the screen burn have happened to severely and so quickly? Did the seller somehow do a temporary fix when they sold?

Cheers

Thanks for the info that's really useful.

Here's a photo of the ghosting. I don't see how I could have missed that in the first 2 weeks!

One interesting thing is that the ghost image has a different home screen image to mine, so it must have occurred before I got it.

If there's no software remedy I'll have to return it I think.

iPhone X: iPhone X occasionally loses carrier/cellular connection

Hello, recently I noticed that my iPhone X was always low on battery power (although battery health showed 87%). This led me to finding out that my iPhone X occasionally loses cellular connection and reconnects back. This happens quite a few times during the day so the battery drainage was huge. Then the connection drops started to become more frequent enough so that it was almost impossible to surf the web or use any app while on cellar connection. Sometimes when I was talking on the phone, the connection was lost, so the phone was giving “Call Failed” error and a loud noise could be heard from the speaker. I recently had my battery changed and the repair shop attempted to fix the issue (they thought it was an antenna issue) but the problem still remains. I have tried updating the iOS, resetting the network setting and I even had a complete factory reset, still hasn’t been fixed. Does anyone know how to fix this?
