Whirlpool Washing Machine: Washer fills with water, doesn't agitate but will spin out water?

Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 Model

After the washer fills with water the washer begins to hums loudly. The washer then begins to smell as if something is getting hot. The only function that really works after this point is if the washer is turned to the spin out cycle. The washer can spin out all of the water.

What is wrong and can I fix it? Thank you in advance for any help.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: whirpool top loader won't agitate or spin, does fill and drain

Got an older Whirpool top loading washer (direct drive). Fills and drains as expected, but won't agitate or spin. The timer goes through the cycles as expected, and I can hear what sounds like a motor turning in there, but it doesn't translate into agitation or spin.

I don't think it's the lid switch as it does make the expected click, and it IIRC this washer will still agitate when the lid is open.

The other symptom is that I cannot turn the agitator with my hand. Or I can only turn it a little bit. Usually with the washer off I can turn it pretty well with just hand strength. Does this indicate a broken coupler or clutch?

Thanks for your help!

Whirlpool Washing Machine: washer has had the error codes F03 and E01.

My whirlpool duet washer has had the error codes F03 and E01. The pressure switch has been replaced 3x’s with no results. Still get that error.

I pointed out that it may be an Air Dome Assembly per service bulletin for this model of washer with the model # WFW95HEDWO. He, “The Tech” answer, even after I showed him the bulletin was “no I don’t think that the problem”. How much is that part and how hard is it to replace? Also, should I pursue this possible fix with Whirlpool?

Thank you,

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool Cabrio Series 5000 Washing Machine stopped spinning at all, stopped draining now too

Why did my washer stop draining and spinning? I tried clearing out the drain, checked, removed and cleaned the drain pump, ran a diaganostic and ran a recalibration. I am thinking the control actuator or shifter arm is bad but the stupid thing is only a year old.

Update

It WAS the shift actuator. There were apparently several service bulletins, changes to the part and improvements before they got this problem under control. I got the newest part available and I'm up and running again today.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Why does my washing machine make noise when not in use?

I woke up this morning to a strange noise coming from my laundry room. My washer seemed to be making a noise that sounded like it was slightly running (not agitating or filling with water, just kind of humming). The noise stopped when I unplugged it. But when I tried to turn it on to run a cycle, nothing happened. None of the lights turned on or anything at all. When I plug it back in, the sound starts again after about 5 to 10 seconds.

Update (10/28/23)

The noise seems to be coming from the water drainage hose. It is like it's trying to empty water from the machine but it's not turned on.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool washer error F25

Hi,

A 3-year old Whirlpool washing machine stopped working. At the very beginning of the cycle it turns the drum a tiny bit and stops with the Draining red light blinking. I read error code and got F25.

I did what was was recommended here for similar questions: took off the front, wiggled all connectors on the control panel and what I could reach by hand at the bottom. There is no corrosion, all clean and tight.

Under the drum, I found a plastic part that broke off, see pic attached. I can’t find where it belongs to. Can it cause the issue here?

Other suggestions?

Whirlpool Washing Machine: How to fix Whirlpool top load washer out of ballance problem

Whirlpool /Maytag washer model MTW5840TW0 works great, except on the drain and spin cycle. The drum starts to spin and the water drains. Once all the water has drained the drum goes out of balance and hits the cabinet. What could be the problem? I’m thinking its the suspension springs, but just by visual inspection they are not broken or rusty.

Whirlpool Estate Heavy Duty Super Capacity. Model number ETW4400WQ0

Just did a search on google and found this. I made a mistake and washed a rug that apparently was too heavy and threw my washing machine off balance.

Now I cannot get the cold water to come into the machine. The hot water will come in but shuts back off after a minute and the only way I can get it filled is to turn it around and start it up again.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlppol Washer not spinning

Whirlpool top loader washer model number WTW4800BQ1 will not spin or agitate. After it fills with water the motor will kick on and it it will agitate for like one second and stop. After sitting for a minute it will do the same thing again and then stops. It never proceeds to wash and eventually will drain. I have already replaced the lid switch thinking that was the issue. I went through the diagnostic test mode and it showed F7-E5 and F7-E6 errors. These coordinate to a shifter fault and a motor fault. Since the motor turns I’m guessing shifter issue. Thoughts…

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool Duet, model WFW9151YW00, won't go through spin cycle

Whirlpool Duet front load washer, model WFW9151YW00, won't go through spin cycle but does agitate. It will drain most of the water no problem but then after the drum turns back and forth a few times, it pretty much just stops moving but the pump sounds like it's still trying to pump water out for a long time. But the little bit of water left seems like it's being pumped back and forth in the line. I can see the drain line that goes to the wall drain moving around like the machine is trying to get the water out but it appears the water is just going back and forth in the line. This goes on for several minutes until finally the machine just stops. It's a pretty loud pumping noise like a cycling back and forth sound. The pump has been replaced, the two control boards (front panel board and control board next to it) have been replaced but hasn't changed. Tried to run diagnostic test and was able to get it into diagnostic mode with the 123, 123, 123 pressing of 3 buttons but couldn't seem to get any error codes. I couldn't really figure out how to test things once in diagnostic mode. It did spin a bit, but pretty weakly in diagnostic mode at one point. It also did a real weak spin when I ran a test wash. Left the towel I threw in totally wet.

Any ideas? There is another circuit board attached to the motor and it looked ok visually. I checked the wires coming out of the motor (3 wires) and got continuity between each one and nothing to ground so it appears the windings are not shorted. The machine seems to fill, agitate and drain the bulk of the water without any problem.

Thanks for any insights on this!
