<title><![CDATA[Scanner: My ScanSnap ix500 needs new feed and exit rollers.]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I can buy the rollers from Fujitsu, but they will not give me the instructions on how to disassemble and reassemble the machine to replace them. These are the small gold rollers, not the large grey rollers.  If anyone has done this, please let me know how you did it.</p>

<title><![CDATA[NeatDesk™ Desktop Scanner: Gray band on one side of Scan]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My neat desk scanner still basically works fine but repeatedly there is either a gray band on the left side of the front page or that same band is simply a poor scan.</p>

<p>Cleaning sand recalibrations sometime will correct the problem for a day or two and then it returns.  Reloaded software and drivers but no effect .</p>

<p>By the way I use mine on Macbook pro.</p>

<p>Any Ideas?  Neat support is so unhelpful and mostly unresponsive.</p>

<p>. It is NOT a simple problem of moving the lock switch. I moved the switch back and forth many times. I think the black plastic rod with teeth may have been bent. I open the glass and bend the rod but still receive the code. Any idea to help? Thank you.</p>

<title><![CDATA[NeatDesk™ Desktop Scanner: Scan and pdf led's both light on power up...non responsive]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>The main desktop scan unit &quot;SCAN&quot; and &quot;PDF&quot; LED's  found on the desktop scanner body both light green upon power up.  The led buttons are not jammed.  Pushing the buttons will not change the lights.  Adding paper does not help.  Toggling the outside on off switch does not help.  Plugging the USB wire into the unit and connecting to a computer does not have any effect.  The computer runs Neatworks version 5.4 and now 5.7.  Toggling on the soft &quot;scan&quot; button in software results in gettingt a message that  the scanner is not available.    No amount patient switching on or off the button helps.   There is no reset button visible.  The unit has no fractures or loose parts within.   I have poked about and pulled off the plastic paper feeder sheets to see if there is a roller/feed jam but can find nothing.   There is a plastic carrier bar inside the lid of the unit.  It is not jammed.  it springs back and forth a bit in a normal fashion when I push on it. The unit is not  yet disassembled.  Recollection indicates the unit may have been dropped recently on a soft wooden floor from desk level but there is no outward sign of damage.   I suspect a loose connection somewhere within.  But maybe others have some experience at this effort to unjam the machine before I attack it.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Epson WorkForce DS-510: Jams when scanning Drivers License]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>We use the DS 510 in our medical office.  The scanner used to scan both Insurance cards and photo ID's with no problem, but recently it jams on only the Drivers License photo ID.  I have looked and found no mechanical issues.  If we place the ID longways in the scanner it will scan, but then we spend extra time rotating the ID for our files.  Time consuming.  Any suggestions?</p>

<p>Things I have tried:</p>

<p>Adding post it to the back side of the ID - still jams</p>

<p>Moving the mult page and cont feed button - still jams</p>

<title><![CDATA[HP Scanjet 4890: How to repair the scanner light?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I have this scanner and it appears to be physically operable except for the light, which does not turn on when scanning.  Software on the computer detects the scanner, sends instructions to begin scanning, the platen (?) moves across under the glass and &quot;data&quot; is received.  But without the light, the data is just a blank page.</p>
