Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen: Laptop won't charge - No charging light.

Hello hello all.

I've been given a family members laptop (Lenovo Carbon X1 6th Gen) and It won't charge, I've done the basic tests of different wall ports, different chargers, removing the battery but no luck at all.

The laptop won't even turn on with just the power cable - Normally there is meant to be a amber light next to charger port when its charging which isn't coming on either.

Thanks in advance =)

Asus X551CA: Keyboard malfunction, hardware or software problem?

Okay so i know this is not the keyboard itself because i have replaced it and didn't fix the problem. Scanned my whole computer and found no viruses, what the problem is, is that if i were to press key "3" that's above letter "E" it would show up as ".74231" if i press letter "E" the results i get are "hge9+" also the caps lock and spacebar act like this, not every key but about a handful of them do. I have already tried the "fn" "num lk" technique but it still does it.

Lenovo Edge 2-1580: Broken hinge has caused the screen to separate from the backplate.

There are several issues.

Recently the hinge for my screen has stripped it screws somehow and became locked in an upright position. This would not allow my screen to move properly without causing the backplate to flex and break away from the screen. After a few days the screen has finally refused to turn on.

I would like to know if fixing the hinge will allow the screen to work. If so, how do the hinges work? How do I fix it? I’ve saved some of the screws that popped out from the hinge.

Also, a new development is that the entire laptop refuses to turn on now. I am unsure what exactly has now caused this.

Also, the rubber lining around the laptop is mostly just flapping off. I hate this.

Asus Laptop: Keyboard displays numbers instead of letters

My daughter and I are switching laptops while she is in school. It's old and came with Windows 8 but now has Windows 10. We recently took it to our local Windows store to have her stuff taken off her ASUS so I would start fresh. Now when I try putting in my password, some keys display numbers instead of the letter. The "O" also has the number 6 on it and that 's what shows up. I thought maybe I had the caps on but no. Any ideas?

MSI Laptop: GS65 Fan rattling noises reported by many users. how to fix?

Hello,

the GS65 model is a pretty popular gaming machine but is plagued by malfunctioning fans. After about 1 month of use, buyers report one (or both) of the fans start making rattling noises. Can you create an MSI GS65 dissasembly guide, including replacing/fixing the fan if possible? I am considering buying this machine, but am reluctant to do so unless i at least know it’s user-fixable.
