Oneplus 3: Cameras and sensors not working after dropping phone

Hello,

I accidentally dropped my OP3 and since then it started having trouble with at least the cameras, gyro, accel, proximity sensor. Immediately after it, it seemed sporadic, but a few months later it seemed to be forever already. Same problem as here described: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/all-s...

It is definitely a HW problem, as restoring the phone, entering the factory menu, etc make no difference at all, the sensors are just not recognized anymore.

I took the phone to an “unofficial” support and they told me the problem seems to be the whole motherboard and they don’t get replacement parts (this is normal in my area). Does anyone have any suggestion or experience? I know that what I’m asking is not likely at all to have another solution, but as last resource, just in case anyone has better information if those sensors share a specific part which could be solved otherwise or so :).

The only solution I would have in mind would be either to buy an used OP3 board or a phone for replacement (for example broken display or so), or just to buy a new phone :(.

I wanted to avoid the last option because I love this one and would last under normal conditions at least one or two years more…

Thanks in advance!!

Oneplus 3: Oneplus 3T intermittent phone call issues

I’ve been working on repairing a Oneplus 3T and noticed that it is having intermittent issues with making phone calls. Sometimes when making a phone call there will be no sound coming from the ear speaker and the person on the other end of the phone call won’t be able to hear me talking.

At first I assumed this might be a microphone issue so I went ahead and replaced the lower PCB with the headphone jack, USB-C port, and microphone is for the phone. That didn’t seem to help but was worth doing as the phone had faulty pins in the USB-C port anyway.

With no luck there, I thought maybe it was a software issue. A lot of people suggested clearing the phone cache which I tried to no avail. After that I decided to try LineageOS to see if that would work better, but I had the same issue there.

I’m at a loss at this point what the issue could be. I’ve verified that the new microphone is functional so I know that isn’t the issue at this point. My only other guess is that there’s some other piece of faulty hardware. I noticed during a phone call that I was hearing some crackling from the ear speaker so I’m wondering if maybe that could maybe be having a hardware failure that causes the phone app to malfunction. In OxygenOS the phone would typically reset and enter a bootloop after a phone call. It didn’t seem to do that with LineageOS but occasionally the phone app would crash.

It may be worth noting that the phone app works fine when using a pair of earbuds, although I cannot confirm that the earbuds actually had a microphone or not.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Sometimes it connects and transfers data normally when I ask it to, e.g. when I open my YouTube app and play vidoes. But it doesn't do the same on other apps, e.g. won't download new messages even if I refresh. I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue or software issue. Suggestions? Thanks

Oneplus 3: OP3 Screen Repair and Preventive Maitence

I recently crack my screen on my OP3t... Save the first couple incidents, I found that ordering the parts and doing the labor myself saved a lot of money, It also was kind of fun (yea I am one of those guys). Anyway, Before doing any research what so ever on the tear down and repair I ordered an OEM original piece of glass considering that both the digitializer and LCD were both working well. My confidence rapidly depleted when I started the research and came to the conclusion that this particular repair was beyond my pay grade. I reached out to OnePlus and astonishingly they only charged around $65 USD for the parts, labor and shipping. Which is very reasonable considering that I couldn't find a display assembly for less the a hundred dollars. While my phone was still being repaired the glass I ordered arrived and I was blown away about the quality of glass. So my question is... would I be able to use the replacement glass in place of a tempered glass screen protector? With the glass they send both UV Loca Glue and Mini tools and an UV flashlight to activate the glue that from what I've read dries completely clear.. My fears about this are would it decrease the touch sensitivity of my phone and if no how would I apply the glue. IE. All over the glass or around the corners.... I obviously have no idea but I do know that if this is possible I would be ecstatic! thank you for your time and look forward to hearing the response.. I've attach some photos of the OEM glass, The Glue, My phone (cracked tempered glass, installed yesterday, already Cracked, and then one with the New Glass Over Current Phone. Thank you again,
