OnePlus One: Phone touchscreen is broken not sure what to fix.

Hello!

My Oneplus One fell in the bathroom which broke the glass a little bit in the top left corner. And now my touchscreen aint working. Alot of phones still work even with a crack on their screen so my question is. When it fell on the ground did it break my sensor of my phone? And is it replaceable or can I just replace the touchscreen and make it work that way ?

My OnePlus One is no longer recognizing my SIM card. I think it would help to replace the SIM slot. Does anyone know how to do that?

I'm sure I could figure out how to replace it myself if I knew which SIM slot to buy or where to get it. Also, I saw that someone else busted his SIM slot and the response was instructions on how to insert a SIM card. I know how to insert a SIM card. I am looking to fix the SIM slot.

OnePlus One: Proper One Plus One Display Replacement

Hello @ifixit , is there a more step by step process to replacing the screen? I have the replacement screen (LCD + Digitizer Piece) and I have seen the break down, but how do you put it back together exactly? if I just disconnect both of the screen connectors, would I be able to use the iopener to remove the screen,or do I need to remove the other components? also after you remove the screen with the iopener? Is there a proper way to attach the screen back? what kind of adhesive to use. thanks

OnePlus One: SIM card detected, but no service

I have gotten my hands on an old, out-of-warranty OnePlus One which can read/detect a SIM card, but it can't get service on it. I tried changing it from an older SIM to a newer, higher capacity one, but that didn't do anything, so the problem is with the device itself. I tried to get it fixed from some local repair shops, but they said that there's a problem with some particular SIM-related component and that's difficult to come by.

I'm interested in trying to fix this myself and learning about these things in the process. How can I troubleshoot this? How do I identify which part exactly is the problem? Where do I start?

Hey there Ifixit Community, i came to you because i think my phone done a short circuit, it was ON and pluged in an inactive USB port on my PC which i've plugged internaly just after.

Then i noticed that the low battery LED on the OnePlus doesn't blink anymore. First of all i thought about a complete discharge. But no charging LED. I've plugged the phone on the power adapter : No LED. This is when i started to freak out.

I've took appart the phone, removed the battery, mesured the voltage : 3.77 Volts. The battery is normaly 4.35 Volts.

Is it a big gap even if there is always a tolerance ?

Is my battery is dead ? Or something shorten the motherboard ?

I don't want to buy a new battery if this won't solve the issue, and i have no schematics to do a continious testing with my multimeter on the motherboard..

Any help is welcommed. Thanks.

OnePlus One: How to get rid of the colour seeping across my phone screen?

It used to be a small spot in the top left corner

I had a green and blue patch at the corner of my phone screen. The colour only shows when the screen is on (the brighter the screen the more visible the colour) and the abnormale colouring did not show up in any screenshots. It looks like water so I put it in rice for a few days. When I took it out it had only gotten worst. The colour has now seeped across the screen and limits visibility. What should I do?

OnePlus One: Yellow band at the bottom. Design or Glue?

Hello guys and girls!

A lot of new users of the devices(OnePlus One) have seen this nasty problem on their screens.

One of the photos with tthis problem

At the same moment the main OnePlus forum just exploded of the number of questions, theories and all kinds of options how to fix this problem.

Many said that this is just the glue and it is still wet, and eventually it will pass. Some users get answers from support that this problem is part of design :) But the official response from the company, threw all into shock.

Official answer

"All devices may show a slight yellow banding near the bottom, visible in extreme circumstances and not impacting daily use.".

Because of that many users is very upset because they can't ask for replacing of the phone.

My question is: If you already have this phone, can you teardown the screen and investigate that problem. We will appreciate this.

Thanks

OnePlus One: Phone got wet touch screen problems

My OPO had a quick (1 second)drop in a toilet. It was in a protective case, inside of a leather holster. I wasn't wearing a belt and the holster slipped off of my pants. When I pulled it out and wiped it off with a paper towel, the screen was totally unresponsive. I was away from home and there was no rice to be found. I tried to shut it off but when I pushed the power button, I couldn't press shut down or restart on the display. (I later discovered that continually holding the power button shuts off the phone.) I put it in a bag of rice overnight and for the most part, it worked. Now, when I scroll the screen (like through my contacts) it's very touchy, opening the contact that my finger landed on to start the scroll over and over. I've tried adjusting the 'Touch & Hold Delay' but it makes no difference. Sometimes, it won't recognize when I try to make a selection near the bottom of the screen so I have to rotate my phone to landscape. But when I use the onscreen keyboard at the bottom (in portrait) everything works except when I press the 'a' key, it often pushes the shift key as well. Does this sound like a problem that replacing the screen would fix? It's irritating, but right now I can live with it.
