OnePlus 5: After display repair the volume button is stuck, what's wrong?

Hey all,

I replaced the display frame on my oneplus 5, it seems to be working again but when I try to start the phone it boots in fastboot mode & keeps scrolling through the menu options. I can't select anything when it does that, though pressing volume down stops it from scrolling. When I hold down the power button for a few secs it powers down. It also does this without the backcover mounted so I don't think it's stuck.

I've already removed the motherboard once again to check out the connections under the motherboard. Could it be I reseated the connectors slightly off and that's what's causing the problem?

Thanks for your time!

Edit: When I hold down the volume down when powering on it starts up normal, everything works as it should be except the volume buttons. I can use volume down but volume up is unresponsive. Volume stays at set level, so it's not stuck always pressing volume down. I think I somehow broke it when I moved it to the new frame maybe? Still interested in your thoughts.

OnePlus 5: OnePlus 5 dead, won't turn on, no charging LED

Hello everyone,

Recently my OnePlus 5 was on low battery at night, so I plugged it into the charger. When I woke up in the morning, the phone was dead and I could not turn it on anymore. This has been the state since then, I have not been able to turn it on and the phone also does not show a LED when plugged in to the charger etc.

I have already tried a few things mentioned on the forum, such as different combinations of the volume and power buttons, but nothing worked so far.

Mainly I am trying to figure out now how determine whether either the charging port is dead, or the battery, or the motherboard:

- If simply the battery was dead (and nothing else), would the phone then show an LED when plugging it into the charger, or not?

- If the charging port was dead (and nothing else), such that it did not charge and just shut down on its own, would I be able to power it on at least for a second or so before it dies again?

Just trying to figure out if the motherboard is actually dead, or if there is still some hope for me. Thank you very much!

OnePlus 5: Should I charge my phone after water damage?

So, I was in my shower and I left my Oneplus 5 over a ledge of about 2m. I was playing music and I wanted to skip a song, the phone slipped out of my hand and fell down right into a bucket of water, I instantly picked it up after it being about 2 seconds in water and put a towel around my phone, after that I left my phone drying in a really bright sunlight until it was almost overheating. Now I am writing this using my Oneplus 5, I have 15% battery left and I want to charge it. There is absolutely no notable damage to the phone, speakers are perfect, microphone works too, display is as responsive as ever and the camera works fine, as well as my SIM card and mobile data. I've heard that this phone has some kind of hidden water resistance but I am still hesitant to plugging it in. Should I?

OnePlus 5: Touch died one day after battery replacement

I replaced the battery myself, folowing the guide on the oneplus 5 here. Everything went well and worked when i was done. I am 100% shure the touch worked after i was done. I left the phone charging over night to start the battery calibration. When i checked the phone the next day the touch wasn't working at all, no reaction, nothing, not in the OS or in the recovery screen. It seems like damage from the battery replacement but i find it strange that it only stoped working a day after. I reopend the phone to checked and reseat the connectors that need to be unpluged for the battery replacement, no change. I updated the OS and reset to factory settings wich also didn't help (i use LineageOS). Any ideas on how to fix this or what the problem even is?

additional info:

-I used 70% isopropyl alcohol on the battery to remove it, i was carefull to remove all fluid i could see afterwards -could it be water damage?

-the screws for the speaker got mixed up on reassembly -are they not all the same lenght?
