Microscope: How do you guys clean your microscope lenses?

Hello. First,thanks for any help!

I got an AmScope SE400-Z. It’s supposed to be an awesome microscope for soldering!

But here’s the problem... I tried 2 of those scopes, and both lenses in both scopes have quite a bit of dust and the second was terrible in the right lens. It’s the eyepiece, but on the rear side, not the side you press your eyes up against.

I tried cleaning them with a brand new microfiber cloth, it just made it worse and super dusty and left marks. I tried Q-Tips as I heard 100% cotton Q-Tips with rubbing alcohol are good. I tried that, rubbing it in a circular motion, but it just made it worse.

I can’t seem to find a way to remove the dust. I also bought canned air,and it just won’t work!

What am I doing wrong? What if I was to switch to 20x lenses for something, and dust got on the 10x when I take them out? It’s not as bad now since I found the 2 lenses with the least dust, but I’m baffled.

Will lens paper or kimwipes really work much better? Because even the micro cloth sucked!!! And yes,it’s the kind for glasses and tv screens.

Thanks for any help!

Microscope: Best type of scope for microsoldering

Hi

I have recently purchased a laser machine for back glass removals, and

i’m looking at the next lot of kit to save up for and purchase. I want to setup for microsoldering. So will need a decent microscope which i can both hook up to a monitor/laptop and be able to look down. Have seen AmScope crop up quite a bit, but want to get an idea from what regular users have experience with.

Will also want to know the compatible cameras/led rings that go with what ever is reccomended.

Thanks

Microscope: Is it normal to have dust in the microscope lenses?

Hi. I got an amscope se400-z. It’s a pretty sweet microscope. Jessa Jones(awesome iPhone fixer/solder pro) uses that brand too. The only issue is in my 10x lenses, there is dust inside the actual lenses. To be clear,it’s not on the outside on either side(the part your eye goes on and the opposite end that you can see when you take the eyepiece out of the scope). I can see a few big pieces. In the right lens there’s a noticible blackish looking line(either a scratch or debris). Taking the lenses out of the scope,I could easily see the dust through them. The right one is the worst of the 2. I don’t notice it as much when I solder,as the green circuit boards help the spots to blend in some, but I can still see it.

Is this normal? Has anyone taken the lense apart and cleaned it? I don’t want to break it,or get more dust inside. The fact both lenses have dust makes me wonder…..

thanks to those who help!!! :)
