MacBook Pro 16" 2019: Torn Lid angle sensor

Hello all,

I've torn the lid angle sensor while trying to clean the inside of my computer. I've attempted to work around this by putting the computer to sleep before closing the lid however the screen turns back on as soon as it is closed. Also strange that the screen will stay on indefinitely until the battery is dead, even though i've changed my power savings settings are to turn the display off after one minute of inactivity. Its odd because if the sensor is broken and the computer thinks that it's still open, it should turn off after inactivity. The only solution i've found is to shut the computer off before closing it which is not ideal. Finally, i've found replacement cables online however i've been reading that this will need to be calibrated by a professional? Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Thank You

MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012: Fan spins at maximum speed by turning MacBook on, then shuts down

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with a Macbook Pro Mid-2012 (A1278). When I turn it on, the fan immediately starts spinning at maximum speed. When it gets to the login screen, I log in, and after two seconds of loading it shuts down. I've already tried to reset SMC and PRAM, but that didn't help.

My guess would be that it is a thermal sensor not working properly? Does anyone know were the thermal sensor is located? Or any other ideas?

Thanks!

Update (03/15/23)

Thanks a lot for your help so far.

I did a quick inspection on the pins and also the logic board, from what I can see and judge, it doesn't look too bad.

Here are some photos:

I will try to also find someone with the same charger. Although the charger seems to be in quite ok condition and I think is replaced at some point. The only thing I can see is that the chord is slightly squeezed at the top, but I don't think enough to not make it work properly.

MacBook Pro 15" Touch Bar 2019: Replacing Power/ID button - 2019 MBPro 15" Retina Touch Bar(A1990)

I'm replacing the logic board on the above MBP as well as both USB-C boards; the ID/Power button that is matched to the board has a ribbon cable that doesn't seem to have the typical "butterfly" hinged lock on it. It seems like the cable is secured by a white adhesive pad beneath it. Has anyone had experience swapping the button and cable out? I'm tempted to leave the old one in and just give up the touch function. There are NO guides on iFixit or anywhere else that resemble this particular ribbon cable. If anyone has actually done this swap, I'd appreciate some sage counsel. I'd like to make the board swap in the next 24 hours.

MacBook Pro 13" Two Thunderbolt Ports Late 2020: Microphone not picking up voice

recently I did a teardown to replace the trackpad, and today I could not get my audio to work on a Zoom call, which sent me down a troubleshooting path. The result is that the computer will produce sound, or register that it is producing sound, if it involves a vibration of the laptop itself, such as a tap, keystrokes, vibration of the table its resting on. I used Quicktime to confirm this. Speakers work fine. The issue is the microphone, likely its connection.

I'm assuming that I did not reconnect one of the cables properly on reassembly, so will be opening it back up, and it would be helpful if I had a sense of which cable to look at when I had it open, as the prior teardown was extensive, delicate, and time-consuming.

I used three different teardown guides as there isn't one specifically for this model (1st Gen M1 13" MBP, late 2020). The main teardown guide I used is this: MacBook Pro 13" Two Thunderbolt Ports 2020 Touchbar Removal

Unfortunately not every cable connection is identified.

Is there a map of the internal [microphone] connections available for this (or similar) Macbook Pros?
