HP EliteBook 840 G3: No display, with fan running at top speed

When I start or plug inthe laptop the lights turn on with no display. After that the CAPS and NUMS lock blinks exactly 5 time and then the fan runs at top speed. I have tried the bios reupdate, cleaned the rams and SSD. I even tried to change these and removed the cell on the mother board with 30 secs of pressing power button

My laptop was sitting in a shed for like half a year. That's when I think the CMOS died. Any ideas on how I can replace the cmos? I am quite certain of this because it turned on earlier, and said the cmos clock is invalid.

Suddenly certain keys on the keyboard have stopped working: F6 4 7 = a s d [ k l and ;

(I have hooked up a Bluetooth keyboard to type this)

I have:

Turned off, removed battery, held power switch down for > 1 minute - then rebooted - no change

Gone into NetBios using F10, done a keyboard test - it fails

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard druivers - no effect.

If possible, can somebody at least confirm if this is a motherboard or software problem. I already replaced the keyboard without success.

HP EliteBook 8440p: How can I fix my laptop that turns on but shows nothing on the screen?

So I decided to update to my HP 8440p elitebook and thought I could do it just like any other software, I had no idea.

I downloaded the installation from the official website and opened it and hit next next install like an idiot. The laptop turned off, I turned it on but nothing shows up on the monitor, just a black screen.

I did notice that the caps lock turns off and on which doesn't happen normally.

I've tried to hook up the laptop to an external monitor but still nothing just a black screen.

I would appreciate some help, thanks!

I have purchased a second-hand laptop and found the BIOS is password protected?

Is there a way to reset/remove BIOS password on this particular laptop?

I have tried removing CMOS battery but this has no effect (I believe BIOS password is held in NVRAM on this model).

HP say the only way to remove the BIOS password is to replace the motherboard which I am not willing to do as apart from being able to access the BIOS, the laptop is running fine.

HP 8470w. Keyboard key "k" not responding. SHIFT keys producing "z" and "q", respectively. After problem arose, BIOS has been updated, but did not solve the problem. External USB keyboard works.

I have two elite books and I tend to play around with them. So I have to unplug and replug the battery a lot. But a little while ago I noticed that one them when it was charging and it still gave me a low battery warning and then it died. So I took the battery from the non-dead one and put it in the dead one and it turned on but it wouldn’t charge, so I would swap battery’s between them for a little while but then the same thing happened to the other one. And now they’re both dead so how do I fix this?

HP EliteBook 645 G10: The case of my Elitebook 645 G10 does not fully close after repair

I cannot manage to fully close the front of the case of my Elitebook 645 G10 after having it opened.
There is a small opening, see picture. The PC is running without any problems.

During the repair I have replaced the memory DIMS.

I also had to remove the battery and put it back in.

One day, I left my laptop turned on on the table and when I came back the other day, I wasn't able to turn it on.

When I press a start button, nothing happens. The screen is black, the white led diode does not light up and the fan is not spinning either. I tried a full power refresh but it didn't help.

I do not know what to do, can you help me please?

HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3: USB devices are not working on my HP Laptop

Alright, so here’s what I’ve got

- Windows 10 Home

- Hp x360 1020 G2 (This wasn’t on the device list, so i chose the most similar type)

- Any kind of mouse

- J.Burrows Type-C USB 3.0 Hub 4 Port

- Just a quick thing, this model of computer has no USB ports so the hub is required

My issue is that whenever I plug any form of mouse into my laptop, nothing happens. The red light on the mouse will either just stay on, or only light up for a second. When I try this mouse on other computers, it will work perfectly with no issues at all. Before you say “Well then it’s obviously your USB hub”, its not. A friend let me try the hub on their exact same model computer, and it worked. In device manager, instead of showing the mouse it says things like “Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)”. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

I used my PC in the afternoon and forgot to turn it off and slept. When I woke up and plugged the PC, the charging light was blinking white and orange repeatedly and the computer won't turn on. Although I unplugged the PC, the light is still blinking for 4 hours now. Please help, this is my fourth PC in 2 years
